Bemused

Yesterday nearly drove me out of my mind due to anxiety, and today hasn't been too much better. I had an interview on Thursday (which I beleive I may have mentioned) and they said that they hoped to have a decision made by Monday. So all day I kept checking my machine which turned out to be a complete act of futility. They never left a message, in fact they had mentioned something about having someone call to test my conversational french skills and since that had not happened I was more than ready to concede defeat. That was until 8pm when I got a call from the Executive Director of the association. She was calling from London ENGLAND!! (and it was 2AM there) She was the person that was to test my French, we talked for a bit and everything seemed to go really well. So then I got my hopes up again, damnit!

And what did that lead to? Me checking my machine all day again today, hoping that they were going to call and tell me that I got the job. Obviously wishful thinking on my part. I may not get the job but at least I can appreciate that I made such a big impression on them that the the Executive Director felt compelled to stay up until 2AM and call me from England, essentially, just to chat. But I still really want(ed) that job!

On the up-side a lovely friend of mine found a great job site Peter's New Jobs which lists all the new posting from various sites and categorizes them as Private Sector, Government, or Recruiters (staffing agencies) to make things super easy. This is going to save me sooooo much time, because everything is in one place, as opposed to searching five individual sites over the course of hours!! (**Miss Wonderful, you are just that**)

I'm feeling like a complete bore because that call has been the highlight of my week (thus far). If you are looking for something a little more dramatic, edge of your seat, only in the movies kind of stuff have a look at Scotty's Day. Ugh, ok I know it's only like 9:30 but I am totally ready for bed, I think I'm going to crash. I'm getting so old!!
