Bemused

One thing that has been bothering me a lot lately is the ever degrading quality of people these days. I don't know what it is but there just seems to be alot more self-centered, self-righteous, negative all-round mean people out there

The one that stands out most in my mind is the chick that I was living with in 2003-/2004, P. Can we say nutbar? When we lived together I compromised myself and the things I believe in more times than I can count just to keep her happy because if it hit the fan you would not want to be around. And no matter what you did it always hit the fan! The worst times were when she and her boyfriend were arguing or fighting about something. Since I was the roommate, in her eyes, I was automatically expected to be on her "side". But to be honest she spent most, if not all her time, with her head up her butt and rarely had anything of substance to say anyway.

Unfortunately for the boy, they decided to move in together, along with two other people. And she contiued to make life difficult for everyone. Eventually the *happy* couple split because P was treating her bf like the ish from the bottom a dumpster. And life goes on la dee da da la dee da da for a little while anyway until they have a party at their house. Yay parties!! *Ahem sorry* So being the good friends that we are we all show up for a good time, and by the time we were all there P was already 3 sheets to the wind and decided that it would be a good idea to start screaming at me and making a spectacle of herself. Hmmmm nutbar and alcohol....doesn't sound like a good combination. Needless to say the evening progressed rather uneventfully after the drunken display of childishness. And when all was said and done I felt really sorry for her, still do. She has fee friends, no ambition, no clue, and a new bf that's only with her because she'll have sex with anyone.

But she's not the only mean spirited person that seems to have crossed my path in the recent past there have been others. There is one particular gent that I am rather pleased dumped my friend. I feel horrible about what's she's been going through but at the same time the guy was trouble. But she'll get over it.

I need to meet normal...or whatever is considered to be relatively normal people! I understand that everyone has some sort of bagage but is it too much to ask that at least 75% of society be sane? Or at least able to carry on some kind of sane conversation? I think not! Unfortunately for me, my mother, bless her heart, is pushing for me to find myself a man and settled down but given the current ratio of unstable people to somewhat sane people I believe her desires may go unfulfilled.

At least for a while anyway.
